Brashares, Ann. 3 Willows: the sisterhood grows.
[Book cover credit: www.alibris.com]
Ama, Polly and Jo have known each other since their first day in third grade. In sixth grade they learned about the legend of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants because the girls went to their local High School. Could their friendship carry the same magic?
Ama, Polly and Jo met their first day in third grade when they were given willow tree projects in science class. As their friendship grew through the year they decided to plant their trees together in a special spot in the woods. When they learned about the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in sixth grade, they wanted to be just like them. By eight grade they have made separate friends and they don’t seem as close. As they go on separate adventures the summer before high school they find out who their real friends are, and who they really want to talk to when the going gets tough. Will their friendships grow as strong as the willow trees they planted?
